GROUP RULES

:bulletyellow: This is group for artists who don't like to spend much time with details and accurate lines, but prefer to make their art as much dynamic or expressive or colorful, as it possible.
Sketches, rough paintings and speed arts (also called fast arts/speed paints/raws) are welcome here.
Note: anyone can join, but only semi-professional and higher level works are to be accepted in the group gallery, when submitted. Quality is the one of the first issues in the group.

:bulletblue: How to join the group?:bulletblue:

-To join the group as a member just click the join icon and select ‘member’ in the first field. No need to write any note in Join Request. You automatically accepted.

- We not accept applications for contributors (with that status you can have more control in the group, and art you suggested will be automatically accepted), but it doesn't mean you can't become one.
Every member with outstanding drawing skill and high standards for the quality will be proposed to contributor.
Just submit your best artworks here as member so you can be noticed.

:bulletblue: How to contribute art?:bulletblue:

When you became member or contributor in the group you free to suggest art to the gallery or group favourites. It may be your own art or also it may be art of any other artist on DeviantArt if you think it’s worth to be noticed.

:bulletred: Only semi-professional and higher level works can be accepted into gallery!:bulletred:

-If your status is a ‘member’, art you suggested wait to be accepted by the admins of the group. It also can be declined if it not meet requirements of the group. You can contribute art only to the ‘members art’ folder.

-If your status is a ‘contributor’, art you suggested accepted automatically. You can contribute art in any folder.

:bulletyellow: What is this mean if permission request to submit your art to group gallery came to you?:bulletyellow:

It means that your art is what is this group are searching for and I desperately want your art to be presented here.
Also it means that you likely can be accepted as ‘contributor’ (if you decide to join) and free to submit you art to the group gallery, it will be accepted automatically.

Which tutorials did you used for achieving some technique skills and which you think the best and really useful for basics|intermediate study|master class?
Which were good and which not worked personally for you?
(links and examples gladly  welcomed)
Because we get too many submissions to vote for all of them in time, we changed limits of group.

New submission limits:

:bulletblue: 1 deviations per month (instead of 2 per month)
:bulletblue: expiration period prolonged for month (instead of 2 weeks)

:bulletyellow:Please choose your submission more carefully!
First of all read group rules, look into group gallery and favorites to see what kind of art we mostly accept, and then decide your submission, not other way around.

Most of the guys here, apart from traditional technics, are using photoshop or corel painter; but I had good experiences with artrage, DA muro and even with the painting tools of zbrush aswell.

I mainly use Photoshop CS5, my colleague at work uses GIMP, but mainly for low-res images, not tried it out myself as PS does everything I need. Artrage and SAI can both offer a nice way to work expressively for speedpaints too though, if you want to try a different approach.

Sorry for declining. Both of your images are sketches of course, but we declined it according to our group rules: [link]
For presenting your artwork, I would suggest to do a little postwork in e.g. Photoshop. Removing the dark fringes, shadows and black edges from your scanner could improve the image quality drasticly.
If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask.

Hi there. While the group is for speedies and sketches, just being a sketch isn't enough for a piece to be accepted. We are looking for a professional standard of work, like what you can already see in our gallery folders. Take a little browse around in there if you want an idea of what we are looking for, read the group rules, or read the journal entry: [link]

Hope this helps :)
